Dress Etiquette
The Gillian Moore School of Dance is
committed to the traditions of dance etiquette, beginning with the dancer's
appearance. Pupils are required to wear the correct uniform and footwear and
hair to be tied up. No jewellery, watches or water bottles allowed in the
studio.
Uniform requirements are ( all
available through the studio):
Ballet
Pre-Primary and Primary
Pink leather ballet shoes with 1/2 "wide pink elastic across instep (no
split soles)
Pale Blue regulation leotard
Pale Blue chiffon skirt
Pale blue or pink crossover cardigan (winter only)
Pink socks or ballet tights.
Grades 1-2
Shoes and leotard as above.
Black character skirt with blue ribbons (sample at studio)
Black character shoes (low heel)
Blue or pink crossover cardigan
Grade 3-5
Pink leather ballet shoes with elastic for class but satin ribbon for exam.
Navy Blue regulation leotard
Black Character skirt with blue ribbons
Black Character shoes with Cuban heel
Navy blue or light blue crossover cardigan
Vocational (Majors)
Navy or black leotard
Pink tights
Demipointe and pointe shoes.
Crossover cardigan.
Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop
Black bootlegs
Regulation camisole top in turquoise
Black Jazz shoes or Tap shoes
Spanish
Black leotard or camisole top
Regulation Spanish skirt
Black heeled shoes (tap shoes without taps or character shoes)
Castanets
